Weather-Related Changes to Busing

In the event that there is a schedule change due to weather, all Windsor families will receive a message through our All Call phone system detailing the change in schedule. WCA will follow DASD’s schedule changes. Note that the WCA school office follows a delay or closing schedule change as well. AfterCare may be canceled due to weather at the coordinator’s discretion.

Please see the quick-reference chart below for an explanation of the busing procedures based on school and district schedule changes for school districts other than DASD:

CIRCUMSTANCE TRANSPORTATION
Your school district of residence has early dismissal due to weather, but WCA does not. Your school district’s buses will pick up early according to dismissal schedule. Email the office to confirm whether your student should ride the bus early or stay for regular pick-up. NO STUDENT WILL BE SENT HOME ON THE BUS EARLY UNLESS A PARENT HAS CONFIRMED THAT THEY SHOULD.
WCA has early dismissal (on DASD’s schedule), but your school district of residence does not. Your child’s bus will not pick up for early dismissal. You must pick your child up in car line at the early dismissal time.
Your school district of residence has a late start due to weather, but WCA does not. Your school district’s buses will pick up according to their delay schedule. Your student will not be marked tardy.
WCA has a late start (on DASD’s schedule), but your school district of residence does not. Your school district’s buses will not transport on the delayed schedule, so you will need to drop your student off at school at the delay start time.
Your school district of residence cancels school, but WCA does not. Your school district’s buses will not transport students. If you opt not to drive your student to school, notify the office. Your student will not have an absence marked.
